How to train and develop your intuition

Have you had those moments when something just felt right even though it seemed to make no sense from a logical point of view?

Your mind can’t see the whole picture and it tries to create stories to fill the gaps. It argues why you should opt for a certain thing while your heart clearly feels that the other one would be the choice you should make. In those cases, give yourself permission to listen to your inner voice.

By trusting it without having the full understanding and then experiencing later why it proved to be the right move (yep, oftentimes you’ll see at some point why that illogical step becomes the exact choice you needed to make), you’re training your confidence in your intuition.

Confidence comes from actions and the more you give space to these feelings and you act upon them, the more confidence you’ll gain in yourself.

💭 "It turned out to be a great story the last time, maybe I can also give it a try now!”

Step by step you build up a new skill until you got to a point when making decisions based on intuition will be just as familiar and trustworthy as thinking it through based on rational and logical reasons. The latter one is the mind’s function and you better leave it when it comes to planning and execution.

Read this post for more about how to use your mind and heart in decisions vs. taking action.

In which area of your life can you listen to your gut more?

Next time you're having a decision to make, pause for a minute and listen to your heart's suggestions first. What is it telling you? What is the mind's chatter in your head? What if you listen to your inner wisdom? How could you make sense of both and make a decision that satisfies them both?
